How to Make a DIY DIY Vape Wire Cutter

How to make your own DIY vape wire cutter from a plastic bottle, a piece of string, or an old pair of shoes?
For some people, that could be enough to make a portable vaper a little bit happier.
But, for others, the idea of using wire cutters for crafting is a little scary.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the most common causes of injury to vapers are wire cuttings and electrical hazards, like overcurrent or overvoltage.
And for some people who’ve already experienced one, those risks can add up.
“If you have a new battery in your battery pack, for example, then it’s possible that a wire cut might cause an overcurrent in the battery,” said John Schreiber, a health care engineer at the University of California, San Francisco, and the CFPB’s lead investigator on the CPSC’s report.
“It’s possible for that overcurrent to be passed to the device, so that could cause the device to become unresponsive.”
In some cases, the wires used to make these vapes are often made from copper or brass.
But for others — and those who may be more sensitive — there’s no guarantee they won’t cause harm.
While the CPSc found that more than half of the 3,400 products sold to Americans in 2015 were made from wire, there were other risks.
In one of the studies, for instance, the CPSs experts found that a person who has experienced an allergic reaction from a vaper could be at higher risk of developing a respiratory illness, a condition called COPD.
And those who had recently been exposed to lead paint could also have a higher chance of developing breathing problems.
“Lead is a known carcinogen,” Schreber said.
“Lead exposure can be caused by exposure to lead in paint, water pipes, or electrical equipment.”
So, while a DIY vaper might not be as safe as a store-bought piece of jewelry, he said that if you’re looking for a tool to make the most of your precious time and money, it might be worth a try.
